
ArmInfo. In 2021, Armenia increased wine exports by 17.7% to more than 3 million liters, against a decrease of 5.9% in 2020. According to the data of the RA Customs Service, the value of exported wine increased by 27.8% - up to $10.9 million.
The main sales market for Armenian wine was Russian (58.4%), and the rest was supplied to Ukraine (13.3%), USA (9.3%), Switzerland (4.7%), France (1.9%), Belgium (1.4%), Poland (1.1%), Germany (1%), Kazakhstan (1%), Italy (0.9%), Lithuania (0.8%), the Netherlands (0.7%), Georgia (0.6%), China (0.6%), as well as Belarus, UAE, Australia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Turkmenistan, Israel, Iraq, Canada, Republic of Korea, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Sweden, Latvia, Iceland, Taiwan, Singapore, Norway, Lebanon, Moldova, Spain, Bahrain, Denmark, Uganda, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Romania.
For the reporting year, Armenia reduced wine imports by 12.8% (against an increase of 58.4% in 2020) to 623,000 liters. At the same time, the customs value increased by 46.3% - up to $2.5 million. Mainly, wine was supplied to the Armenian market from Spain (50.6%), Italy (21.4%), France (10.4%), Ukraine (3.8%), Germany (2.3%), Georgia (2%), Russian Federation (1.9%), Portugal (1.8%), Chile (1.6%), Belarus (1.4%), New Zealand (0.6%), South Africa (0.5%), Australia (0.3%), USA (0.2%), as well as Moldova, Poland, Austria, Argentina, Israel, Lebanon, Hungary, Canada, China, Mexico, United Kingdom, Luxembourg.
It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, the volume of wine production for 2021 exceeded 13 million liters, with a y-o-y growth of 18.8% (against a decline of 13.1% in 2020). At the same time, a decline in the production of sparkling wine (champagne) was recorded - by 19.5% to 903.6 thousand liters (against 11% growth in 2020).
