Tobacco products were mainly exported from Armenia to Iraq (62.9%), the UAE (17.3%), the Arab Republic of Syria (6.3%), the Russian Federation (5.8%), Georgia (4.3%), Ukraine (1.4%), Turkmenistan (0.4%), Afghanistan (0.2%), as well as Luxembourg, Iran, USA, Viet Nam, Luxembourg, Libyan Arab Jahariya, Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Mongolia , Portugal, China, Pakistan, Jordan, Poland, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan, Ireland, Croatia, Italy, Hong Kong, Romania, Israel, Kuwait.
During the reporting period, Armenia also reduced the import of cigarettes, cigarillos and cigars by 15.8% - to 2.2 billion pcs. The customs value of imported cigarettes fell by 14.6% to $33.9 million. Products to the Armenian market were imported from Ukraine (63.7%), Russia (21.8%), Belarus (8.6%), Greece (4.5%), Afghanistan (0.9%), and Switzerland, Serbia, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, USA, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, Finland, Dominican Republic, Italy, Cuba, United Kingdom.
Raw tobacco for the production of cigarettes, cigarillos and cigars, was imported mainly from Zimbabwe (29.3%), India (27.1%), Brazil (19.3%), Malawi (9.7%), Argentina (5 .8%), South Africa (5.2%), as well as Bangladesh, Belgium, Zambia, China, Spain, Macedonia, Turkey, the Dominican Republic, Germany, the Russian Federation. Imports of raw tobacco for the reporting year decreased by 47.5% - to 10.2 thousand tons, with a decrease in customs value by 46% - to $39.8 million.
It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, in 2021, the production of tobacco products (cigarettes, cigars with cut ends, cigarillos, tobacco cigarettes or tobacco substitutes) in Armenia decreased by 12.8% - to 24.5 billion pieces.
