Crimean, Armenian travel agencies discussing opening of tourist route  along the Great Silk Road

ArmInfo. Crimean and Armenian travel agencies are discussing the opening of a tourist route along the Great Silk Road, which run through the Crimea and Armenia in the  middle ages, Irina Kiviko, Minister of Finance of the Republic of  Crimea, stated.

"It is an interesting route, in terms of both history and religion,  as it will run through the locations of ancient Armenian  monasteries," she said.

The Armenia-Crimea route will run through Anapa.

During their visit to Armenia, representatives of Crimean travel  agencies informed their Armenian counterparts of the Crimea's  potential. The sides signed five agreements between Crimean and  Armenian travel agencies and hotels.

The Crimean delegation laid flowers at the Memorial to Armenian  Genocide victims and observed a minute's silence.

"In the peaceful and multinational Crimea it is with pain that we  know about ethnic persecution. We reject all forms of discrimination  and violence, which will never be practiced in our country," Ms  Kiviko said.
