Armenia`s government to sponsor housing programme for forcibly  displaced families 

ArmInfo.Armenia's government will allocate a total of AMD 3.4bln to the government programme of housing for the families forcibly displaced from some of the regions of the Republic of Artsakh during Azerbaijan's aggression in 2020. 

On February17, Armenia's Government approved an affordable housing  programme for families. Under the government-approved decision, the  government will assist the families taking out mortgage loans for  purchasing or building housing in repaying the loans. 

After a family received a housing certificate in Yerevan, the  government will allocate about $16,700 for the principal sum and  about $7,600 for interest payments. In Armenia's regions, the  principal sum will reach $21,000, with allocations for interest  payment to reach $12,200.  

As regards the families willing to purchase housing in Artsakh, the  principal sum will reach $25,000, with the allocations for interest  payments to reach $18,500. Moreover, under the programme the  prepayment for mortgage loans is only 1% for families willing to  reside in Artsakh (5% for families willing to reside of Armenia's  regions and 10% for families willing to reside in Yerevan). No  prepayment is set for the beneficiaries building private houses. The  deadline for applications in December 30, 2022. 

Over 3,000 beneficiaries will be able to purchase housing with  government assistance.
