
ArmInfo.The Ministry of Economy is ready to assist in the modernization of educational programs and existing equipment of the State College of Light Industry to bring it into line with the current requirements of the labor market, as well as the expectations of employers and students. Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Rafael Gevorgyan stated this during his visit to the Yerevan State College of Light Industry.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, accompanied by the leadership of the College, the deputy minister got acquainted with the process of modeling and designing clothes, the available equipment and the work of students.
The parties discussed the prospects for the development of the college, problems, the learning process and the educational and methodological base (equipment, programs), the possibility of organizing retraining, as well as short-term courses in various specialties.
The Deputy Minister noted the importance of ensuring communication between education - science - economics, cooperation between educational institutions and the employer, presented the tools of state support, noting that work is underway to develop a strategy for the textile sector.
The parties agreed that it is necessary to increase the role of secondary vocational education, introduce and expand the dual-education system with the active involvement of employers, provide students with the opportunity to acquire practical skills from employers, in parallel with theoretical education, with the prospect of further employment.
