ArmInfo. China understands that in the event of a conditional defeat or failure of Russia, it will be next. On April 14, during the Yerevan-Moscow video bridge, Russian political scientist, radio and TV Sergey Mikheev expressed a similar opinion when asked to comment on Russian-Chinese interaction in the context of the sanctions of the collective West.
"They are well aware that in which case they will be left face to face with the collective West. No wonder the Americans created this AUKUS bloc, directed precisely against China. No wonder the Americans imposed the Chinese agenda at the last NATO summits. Previously, nothing was said about China at all, but now they consider and even characterize its actions as threatening," the political scientist stated, adding that, in fact, Russia is China's only ally.
"Yes, China is a powerful state with 1.5 million armies, which they are modernizing, but they have no allies at all, so this is extremely important for them. And this link will not go anywhere," Mikheev said.
At the same time, he urged not to overestimate and underestimate relations between Russia and China. "Will China ever fight for Russia, I think that, of course, not. China will fight only for itself and for no one else. This is both its strength and its weakness, because China is also a little alone in this planet," the expert noted, pointing out the importance of geopolitical interaction between the two countries in the current realities. As for Armenia and China, the expert admitted that he knows nothing about the Armenian-Chinese relations. At the same time, he expressed the opinion that there are probably those relations and China can offer something. "Relatively speaking, if Chinese investments came to Armenia, then I think that Russia would have nothing against it," he said.
