Tourist flow to Armenia starts to recover

ArmInfo.In Q1 2022, 249,361 tourists visited Armenia, which is 2.9-fold higher than a year ago (against a decline of 71.9% in 2021). Despite the resumption of the  tourist flow after the removal of COVID restrictions, Armenia has not  yet managed to reach the figure recorded before the outbreak of the  coronavirus pandemic - 311,264 tourists in Q1 2020. This is evidenced  by the data of the Statistical Committee.

The TOP-5 countries from which tourists prefer to organize their  holidays in Armenia traditionally include Russia- 108,976 people  (with a 3.6-fold increase over the year), followed by tourists from  Georgia - 24,158 people (2.7-fold increase), Iran - 23,291 people  (2.5-fold increase ), Ukraine - 4,027 people (growth by 99.6%), USA -  3,917 people (growth by 87.1%).

Numerous tourist flows are also registered from Belarus - 2,853  people (309-fold growth), France - 2,382 people (2-fold growth for  the year), India - 2,207 people (21.6-fold  increase), Germany -  2,179 people.  (3.8-fold growth), Philippines - 2,036 people (against  22 people in 2021), a little less from Kazakhstan - 1831 people  (6.4-fold growth), UAE - 1,283 people (3.7-fold) and Turkey - 1,244  people ( 3.5-fold growth).

At the same time, during the reporting period, 56,519 Armenian  citizens living abroad visited the RA for tourism purposes, which  2.1-fold higher than a year ago.
