ArmInfo.Within the framework of subvention programs for 2022, the Government of the Republic of Armenia has allocated 5.6 billion drams for the socio-economic development of the regions. On May 18, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the decision to provide additional subsidies in the amount of 790 million drams to Aragatsotn, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Shirak, Syunik, Vayots Dzor and Tavush regions.
As Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan noted, we are talking about programs that started in 2020-2021. There are 29 programs in total, 3 of which are in 2020. The programs cover 25 communities. Thus, 33 million drams will be allocated to Aragatsotn region, 52 million drams to Armavir, 84 million drams to Gegharkunik, 147 million drams to Lori, 98 million drams to Kotayk, 39 million drams to Shirak, 268 million drams to Syunik, 42 million drams to Vayots Dzoru, 26 million drams to Tavush. All programs are completed. "To date, the government has already allocated 5.6 billion drams for the implementation of the subvention programs in 2022," the minister said.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the programs implemented with the allocated funds. In particular, works on gasification, construction of public buildings, major repairs, improvement of public importance, outdoor street lighting were carried out in the Ohanavan community of the Aragatsotn region. The water supply network was reconstructed and expanded in the Tandzut community of the Armavir region, a well was drilled in the Artamet community, and the roofs of apartment buildings were reconstructed in the Dalarik community. The following programs have been implemented in Gegharkunik region: the construction of an irrigation water pipeline in the Madina community, the construction of solar stations on the roofs of the administrative buildings of the Vaghashen community, the construction of a kindergarten, and the repair of roads in the Geghamavan community. For the needs of the Arjut community of Lori region, equipment was purchased: tractors, mowers, grass collectors, the streets of the Tumanyan city of the Tumanyan community were landscaped, the street lighting network of the Tashir community was modernized, etc.
The Prime Minister underlined the need for public accountability of grant programs and the collection of data on their quality.
