AMD 554mln allocated for construction design of Ajapnyak metro  station

ArmInfo.A total of AMD 554mln has been disbursed for the construction design of the metro station in Ajapnyak administrative district. The Council of Elders approved  of the draft decision during its regular meeting, the official  website of the Yerevan Municipality reports.

50 million AMD has been disbursed for social assistance in Yerevan.  This assistance program will be implemented within the frames of the  voluntary obligations anticipated for the Mayor by law. It should be  noted that the community already implements a number of other social  programs.

By the decision of the Council of Elders a number of community  joint-stock companies will be reorganized. Deputy Mayor Gevorg  Simonyan, who represents the project, noted that the goal of the  initiative is to increase the level of services rendered to residents  in policlinics, to improve the conditions in premises and to ensure  effective management. Before putting the project into practical  phase, it was thoroughly studied and all problems were revealed. The  program mainly involves policlinics servicing a small number of  residents, the ones that have no appropriate financing and labour  resources to provide high-quality services and to develop on their  own.

The Council also confirmed the decision to place memorial boards  dedicated to a number of eminent figures in Yerevan: the journalist,  essayist, translator Aydin Morikyan, to the Distinguished Scientist  of Arm.SSR, academician Hrant Adonts, to the historian, armenologist,  educator, professor Tachat Sahakyan, to the  orthopedist-traumatologist, doctor of medical sciences, professor,  Arm.SSR Distinguished Scientist Kristophor Petrosyan, to the  statesman and politician Misak Mkrtchyan, to the statesman and public  figure Bersabe Grigoryan.

Another decision of the Council referred to naming the segment of the  road stretching from Charagaytayin street to Shahumyan 7th street  after the playwright, translator, publicist Artashes Kalantaryan.

The meeting was followed by Q&A. The Council members addressed their  questions to the Mayor, to heads of administrative districts and  departments of the Municipality.

The next regular meeting of the Council of Elders is scheduled for  June 21.
