EDB forecasts 7-15% decline in mutual trade between EAEU member  countries in 2022

EDB forecasts 7-15% decline in mutual trade between EAEU member  countries in 2022

ArmInfo.According to EDB analysts, the volume of mutual trade between the EAEU countries amounted to $5.2 billion in March 2022, having decreased by 10.3% compared to March 2021.  The main contribution to this dynamics was made by the decrease in trade between Russia and Belarus and Kazakhstan.

At the same time, as the Bank's analysts note, the EAEU countries  increased the supply of export goods to Armenia, whose share in the  total volume of mutual trade between the EAEU countries increased to  2.5%.  Imports to other countries have decreased, to a lesser extent  to Kazakhstan.

According to the Bank's forecast, the reduction in mutual trade in  the EAEU in 2022 will be 7-15%, which is significantly less compared  to the dynamics of trade between the EAEU countries and third  countries.

The main reasons for the decline in mutual trade this year are the  decline in domestic demand in Belarus and Russia, the reduction in  supplies of cooperative products to foreign markets.
