ArmInfo.IT is one of the bases of Armenia's economic progress, Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan stated at a video-conference Eurasian forum.
The IT era enhances countries' international competitiveness, which is especially important for Armenia with its restricted influence on global processes due to geopolitical and geographic factors.
He stressed that IT provides equal conditions for all actors.
"So this field is of strategic importance for Armenia, as it is one of the few fields that do not require maps, mineral resources or outlet to the sea. It requires human capital. And Armenia has always been famous for this resource," Mr Pashinyan said. The government pays special attention to educating young people.
Armenia's government is sparing no effort to improve Armenia's attractiveness to investors, especially investors in the IT sector.
"We have noticed IT experts coming to Armenia and are trying to create conditions for this process to contribute to integration within the EAEU," he said.
Mr Pashinyan hopes free movement of labor force, products and services will be regular practice.
Over 2,500 people from 15 countries are expected to take part in the forum. Among them are businessmen, and delegations from Latin America and South-East Asia.
This January-March, the IT sector's proceeds totaled AMD 97.1bln - a 25.3% increase.
