Three Armenian banks involved in cashback programme for pensioners  

ArmInfo.Armbusinessbank, Ardshinbank and VTB Bank Armenia are involved in a government programme introducing cash-back for pensioners and people receiving  benefits. 

The beneficiaries will get 10% cash-back in effecting payments by  means of cards of partner-banks, Armenia's Minister of Labor and  Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan stated at a Cabinet meeting on   Thursday.  

According to the minister, 390,000 of the 560,000 Armenian pensioners  are receiving pensions by means of bankcards, with only 1,000 of  80,000 benefit recipients using cards. Mr Mkrtchyan believes that  many of them will start using bankcards. 

From this August, the beneficiaries will get 10% cash-back (up to AMD  5000 or about $10) on their cards in effecting  payments by mans of  card of partner-banks.

At a Cabinet meeting on May 18, Minister Narek Mkrtchyan said that  cash-back will also be effect in utilities payments by mans of POS  and ATMs.

The government will release a list of partner banks before June 1 for  citizens to choose among them. 

The pilot project will last for six months.

Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan reported  earlier that about 12,000 of the 62,000 cash registers have POS  functions, and Armenia's authorities are working to provide the  others with such functions.
