ArmInfo. In January-April 2022, 11,017 thousand tons of aluminum foil were produced in Armenia. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee, according to which the y-o-y dynamics lingered in the decline with a slowdown from 3.7% to 2.1%.
According to statistical data, in April alone, the output of aluminum foil amounted to 2.718 thousand tons, with a monthly decline of 7%.
It should be noted that 33,481 thousand tons of aluminum foil were produced in Armenia in 2021. Thus, for the fourth time, the Armenal plant exceeds the 30 thousandth milestone in terms of production of aluminum foil (in 2017 - 33.724 thousand tons, in 2019 - 30.547 thousand tons, in 2020 - 35.482 thousand tons - ed. note).
According to the RA Customs Service, in 2021 Armenia exported 33.9 thousand tons of aluminum foil, which is 3.5% lower than a year ago. However, due to the growth of exchange prices for aluminum, the customs value increased by 25% to $118.3 million in y-o-y terms. The lion's share of exported foil fell on the German market (32.3%), the remaining volume was distributed among Poland (12.5%), the Netherlands (10.9%), the USA (10.5%), Italy (10.5% ), France (6.1%), Spain (5.3%), the United Kingdom (2.8%), and very small shares fell on Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and the Russian Federation. At the same time, according to customs data, in the reporting year, it was possible to diversify the export markets of aluminum foil, also covering Canada (with a share of 2.9%), Israel (1.6%), Slovenia (1.1%), Denmark (0.6 %), Portugal (0.3%), Ireland (0.2%), Mexico (0.1%), and also India, Sweden, Romania
