ArmInfo. Metallurgical industry of Armenia in January-April 2022 slowed down the y-o-y growth rate to 7% from 26.9% in the same period of 2021. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
In particular, the production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia decreased during the reporting period by 17.4% per annum - up to 2.761.1 thousand tons. In April alone, 662.1 tons of ferromolybdenum were produced (there is no dynamics for the month, since no data on ferromolybdenum were presented in the statistical report for March).
The production of copper concentrate decreased by 17% - to 106.5 thousand tons. On a monthly terms (for April), the volume of copper concentrate production increased by 36% - up to 30.4 thousand tons. The production of zinc concentrate decreased over the reporting period by 6.3% per annum - up to 3.508 thousand tons. In April, the production of zinc concentrate decreased by 2% - to 822 tons. In January-April, the production of molybdenum concentrate decreased by 5.3% per annum - to 6.924 thousand. At the same time, in April alone, the production of molybdenum concentrate increased by 48% - to 2.060.8 thousand tons. The production of aluminum foil for the reporting period decreased by 2.1% per annum, amounting to 11.017 thousand tons. At the same time, in April the production of aluminum foil decreased by 7% - to 2.718 thousand tons.
The production of steel pipes in January-April decreased by 27.3% per annum - to 3.530 thousand tons, and in April alone a decline of 92% -to 829 tons was recorded.
Castings from unalloyed (carbon) steel were produced during the reporting period in the amount of 38,128.8 tons, which is several times higher than the figure for a year ago. In April alone, production volumes also increased significantly, amounting to 11,157.7 tons.
All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA.
