ArmInfo. The volume of cargo transportation in Armenia in January-April 2022 slowed down the y-o-y growth to 10.2% (from 17.7% for the same period in 2021), amounting to 5,031.9 thousand tons. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
In particular, road freight transportation, which accounts for 64.3% of the total volume or 3,233.1 thousand tons, increased by 11.3% per annum, air freight transportation - by 8.5% to 5.1 thousand tons, rail freight transportation - by 1.8% to 924.6 thousand tons.
869.1 thousand tons of natural gas were delivered through the main pipeline, which is 16.3% more than the indicator of a year ago.
Passenger transportation in January-April 2022 reached 41.1% growth (from 17.4% decline a year earlier), amounting to 44,579.3 thousand people. Moreover, the most significant growth (almost 2-fold) is observed in terms of air transportation of passengers - by 92.6% to 780.1 thousand people, followed by road transportation - by 45% to 35 537.7 thousand people, rail transportation - by 27.7% to 135.6 thousand people. The transportation of passengers by electric transport also shows growth - by 23.5% to 8125.9 thousand people.
As a result, during the reporting period, cargo turnover increased by 14% per annum - up to 1939.1 million ton-km, while passenger traffic, on the contrary, decreased by 77.3% per annum - up to 747.5 million passenger-km
