ArmInfo.Armenia's Cabinet approved on Wednesday the government support for the housing programme for families in Armenia's border regions.
The government will repay part of the housing loan (up to AMD 12mln) and interests on the loan (12%) for 10 years. The largest amount of loans will be agreed on with the partner banks under the programme, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan said. The subsidies are estimated at AMD 20.6mln.
Among the beneficiaries are officially registered married couples, with at least one of the spouses being Armenian national. The programme does not set any age limits nor are families expected to have children.
Seventy-nine border villages in Ararat, Gegharkunik, Vaiots Dzor, Syunik and Tavush are now on the list against 36 before the 44-day war. Population decline has been recorded in the villages.
An additional 137.7mln will be allocated from the state budget under the programme.
