Growth in Armenia`s services sector

ArmInfo. In January-April 2022, Armenia`s services sector recorded a 23.5% year-on-year growth against a 2.9% decline last January-April - up to AMD 698.2bln (over  $1.4mln). This April alone, the services sector's proceeds totaled  AMD 194.9bln ($413.9) - a 2.1% growth. 

The cause is improved dynamics of services in all the culture and  recreation sectors (4.9% growth against a 34.7% decline), transport  sector (a 51.8% growth against a 10.6% decline). 

Specifically, public catering and tourism recorded a 40% growth  against a 27%, education sector, a 16.9% growth against a 3.8%  growth, the real estate sector, a 20.7% growth against a 12.3%  growth, the information and communication sector, a 26.7% growth  against a 13.5% growth, management and support activities, a 29.6%  growth against a 1.3% growth, the financial sector, a 19.8% growth  against a 2.2% growth. The healthcare sector recorded slower growth -  14.9% against 31.6%, with the professional and research activities  recording a 20.4% growth against a 25.3% 

The financial sector is the leader in terms of services - AMD  194.1bln (27.8% of the total services). The information and  communication sector ranks the second - AMD 126.4bln 18.1% of the  total services). The culture and recreation sector - AMD 83.3bln  (11.9%), followed by the transport sector (AMD 81bln or 11.6%) and  public catering and tourism (AMD 61.2bln or 8.8%). 

The average exchange rate was AMD 482.55/$1 this January-April, and  AMD 470.99/$1
