ArmInfo.In 2022, the Armenian government has already allocated 5.9 billion drams (more than $10.3 million at the current exchange rate) for the implementation of 249 subvention programs. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan announced this on June 17 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, presenting another decision on financing the work.
According to Sanosyan, it is proposed to allocate 268.5 million drams (more than $600,000) to the regional administrations of Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Shirak and Syunik to pay construction companies that have implemented subvention programs. Within this amount, 20 subvention programs were implemented in 18 settlements. "All programs have been completed and with this decision we are only fulfilling our obligation to co-finance projects," the minister said. In particular, 3 programs for 54 million drams were implemented in Ararat region, 6 programs for 81 million drams in Armavir region, 5 programs for 158 million drams in Gegharkunik region, 2 programs for 202 million drams in Kotayk, 2 programs for 35 million drams in Lori region, 1 program for 4.6 million million drams in Shirak, 1 program - for 53 million drams in Syunik. From January 2022 to today, as Sanosyan pointed out, the government has allocated 5.6 billion drams for the implementation of 229 subvention programs.
In total (taking into account the 20 programs approved today), the amount reached 5.9 billion drams. These programs are mainly aimed at capital investments in the improvement of streets, gardens, playgrounds in communities; construction and repair of community houses of culture, kindergartens; construction and repair of drinking, sewer, irrigation conduits; implementation of night lighting, gasification of settlements, repair of common shared property of apartment buildings with the use of energy-saving measures, etc.
During the discussions, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan suggested that subvention programs also include projects for the construction of swimming pools, which are necessary for connecting drip irrigation systems. According to Gnel Sanosyan, 673 subvention programs were submitted to the interdepartmental commission in 2021. 605 of them have been completed, the rest are in progress. In 2022, 461 applications were received, of which 319 (in the amount of more than 30 billion drams) were discussed and only two applications were not approved.
