ArmInfo.Protection of businesses' legal rights and economic interests from criminal encroachments is one of the priorities of Armenia's Prosecutor General's Office, Artur Davtyan, Prosecutor General of Armenia, stated at a panel discussion Right to Protection: Business in Russia and Abroad on the sidelines of the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The legislative and institutional reforms in Armenia are aimed at ensuring equal conditions for economic entities and protecting businesses from illegal interference, Mr Davtyan said.
In the context of developing international business ties, he highlighted a need for harmonize national laws to ensure protection of businesses.
In the context of Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EUEU), Mr Davtyan said that the EAEU legal norms make it incumbent upon law-enforcement agencies to ensure freedom and protection for individuals and businesses irrespective of national borders. It is of special importance in the context of the latest geopolitical developments and their consequences for economies. Armenia has created necessary conditions for prospective investors' free economic activities and for their protection, Mr Davtyan said.
