ArmInfo. There is a sharp increase in the import of electric vehicles in Armenia. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of the Environment on its Facebook page.
The source notes that if in 2019 668 electric vehicles were imported into the republic, in 2020 - 2155, in 2021 - 6645, then in the first half of the current year alone-7181. In many ways, the increase in imports of this equipment was due to amendments to the Tax Code, introduced by the country's parliament on March 17, 2022, according to which a customs exemption was established for the import of vehicles with electric motors into the territory of Armenia without paying import duties, which is valid until December 31, 2023 inclusive.
