ArmInfo. Armenia's Vice-Premier Hambardzum Matevosyan hosted on Wednesday Mr Amit Gupta and Jayashree Rangarajan, Corporate Vice Presidents, American multinational semiconductor company AMD.
Participating in the meeting were Levon Ohanesyan, Director General, Enterprise Armenia, Ara Markosian, Head of Armenia Operations, AMD/Xilinx, and others.
Mr Matevosyan voiced hope that the AMD Armenia branch will use the local potential and contribute to technological solutions to global problems.
Speaking of the Armenian government's policy and programmes, he said that the government's aim is encouraging startups and attracting leading companies, to the country's IT sector. He conveyed the government's readiness to discuss the views of the company's development necessary for expanding its activities.
The AMD vice-presidents briefed Mr Matevosyan on the company's work, prospects for development and the sector's problems. He pointed out Armenia has very many talented young people and the company will do its best to identify and train them.
The sides discussed cooperation and implementation of measures as part of the government sector's digital agenda. Since the RA Ministry of High Technologies has been implementing training programmes since 2020, thee sides discussed a possibility of joint programmes.
