ArmInfo. The Commission for the Protection of Competition revealed violations in the production and sale of bottled non-carbonated water labeled "Spring Water" and "Natural Drinking Water".
According to the press service of the department, the CPC studied the activities of entities engaged in the production and sale of bottled non-carbonated water labeled "spring water" and "natural drinking water", as a result of which proceedings were initiated against 12 entities on the fact of misleading the public in the field of economic competition.
As part of the production, it was established that nine economic entities produced and sold bottled non- carbonated water labeled "spring water" and / or "natural drinking water", while, according to the EAEU regulations, the mentioned product does not contain such a composition, that is, it does not have a spring origin and / or is processed with chlorine-containing substances.
As noted in the CPC, even if companies purchase water from the water supply operator (Veolia Jur) and then purify it from chlorine residues, they cannot produce and sell bottled still water labeled "spring water" and "natural drinking water". As a result, the Commission applied a warning to six economic entities, a fine to three more, and proceedings in three more cases were terminated.
Thus, the "Bnakan Jur", "Aquayan", "SIL Maaza" companies owned by the well-known MP and businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan, were fined. The largest fine was imposed on the last company - about 4.1 million drams (more than $10 thousand). The companies "Arla", "Jermuk Aqua", "Tamara and Ani", "SV Jur", "SAM-HAR " and "Aqua Arma Water Company" received warnings.
