ArmInfo. ACBA Bank is the fourth bank to officially join the government-sponsored 10% cashback programme for pensioners and reliefers, Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan said a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
A great number of Armenian pensioners are using ACBA Bank cards.
The programme was launched in Armenia on July 1. Armenian pensioners and reliefers will get 10% cashback, but no more than AMD 5,000, the month after effecting transactions, including public utility payments, using cards.
The VTB Bank, Ardshinbank and ArmBusinessBank joined the programme earlier. The 6-month pilot programme will help reveal and eliminate the defects.
This July alone, 17,000 of the 173,000 clients of the banks involved in the programme effected cashless transactions worth a total of AMD 524mln. A total of AMD 44mln was transferred to their cards.
