Armenia's Vice-Premier Hambardzum Matevosyan chaired a meeting of the Management Board of the North-South Road Corridor Programme - the renovation and improvement work on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgian border highway, investment programme of stable urban development and Northern corridor organization programme.
The meeting discussed the implementation of the North-South corridor, Tranche-4, renovation of a 32-km section of the Agarak-Kajaran highway. The meeting also approved documents on invitation of a tender for construction.
The meeting also approved the results of a tender for the construction of the Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra road, an 8-km-long section of the North-South corridor as part of Tranch-2. The meeting instructed the Road Department to sign contacts with the contractor that won the tender.
Mr Matevosyan pointed out a greater strategic importance of the North-South project for modernization and development of Armenia's road network, especially in the context of present-day challenges. He ordered no effort to be spared for effective implementation of the project.
