Armenia increased electricity generation by 16.6% in 8 months

ArmInfo.5,867.6 million kWh of electricity was produced in Armenia in January-August 2022, which is 16.6% higher than the figure of a year ago (against the 1.5%  decrease of the previous year).  According to the data of the RA  Statistical Committee, in August alone electricity generation  increased by 2.7% - up to 749.9 million kWh.

In January-August 2022, TPPs increased their electricity generation  by 22.8% per annum - up to 2520.2 million kWh, Armenian NPP - by  36.6% per annum to 1,690.6 million kWh, and HPPs, on the contrary,  reduced their electricity generation by 10.9% - up to 1,497.9 million  kWh. Wind farms produced 1.3 million kWh of electricity in the  reporting period, increasing the volume by 54.6% year-on-year. And  solar power plants produced 157.6 million kWh of  electricity in the  reporting period, with a 2.7-fold  noticeable increase in volumes.
