ArmInfo. The issue with Poti-Kavkaz ferry service turned out to be more complicated than we expected. RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan stated this in an interview to the Public Television of Armenia. In this regard, he noted that the problem has intensified against the background of the tightening of the sanctions environment.

Kerobyan noted that work is underway at this stage to launch ferry communication not only with the management of the Poti port, and the ferry operator, but also with European, American, Russian partners.
He stressed that today everything possible is being done to make the ferry service work before the winter season. It should be reminded that in May this year, Vahan Kerobyan announced the launch of the ferry service from June 15. At the beginning of August, the minister announced that the service will start its operation from August. He assured that all previously existing problems have been resolved, the schedule will be published in the coming days. However, the process dragged on and to this day the ferry service that will connect Armenia with the EAEU railway system does not work.
The ferry crossing was operated by APM Terminals Poti, one of the world's largest shipping companies, which also imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation in connection with the Ukrainian-Russian conflict. As a result, transportation along the planned route came under restrictions
