Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine leads among major taxpayers in  Armenia

Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine CJSC (ZCMC) retained its leadership in the list of 1000 largest taxpayers of Armenia in January-September 2022.   This is evidenced by the data of the State Revenue Committee,  according to which during the reporting period the company sent to  the state treasury a total of 129.2 billion drams in taxes ($318.4  million, with a 3-fold y-o-y increase), of which 1.4 billion was paid  for customs duties, 39.2 billion drams - for direct taxes (including  income tax, profit tax), 2.4 billion - for VAT, and 87.5 billion  drams - for other taxes and payments.

The second place was taken by Gazprom Armenia CJSC, payments to the  state treasury of which amounted to 41.8 billion drams, with a y-o-y  growth of 9.1%. Of this amount, over 157.2 million drams were paid  for customs duties, 3.7 billion drams - for direct taxes, and over 37  billion drams - for VAT.  The third place continues to be occupied by  the Armenian-Canadian Grand Tobacco enterprise , which allocated 32.5  billion drams to the state budget (with a y-o-y growth of 31.2%), of  which 1.4 billion - for customs duties, 5.8 billion drams - for  direct taxes (in including income tax, profit tax),7.3 billion drams  - for VAT.  International Masis Tobacco moved up to the fourth place  from the fifth a year earlier, having paid 16.4 billion drams to the  state treasury (6.5% y-o-y growth), of which over 1.4 billion drams -  for customs duties, 3.7 billion drams - for direct taxes (including  profit tax, income tax), 1.9 billion drams - VAT.  Telecom operator  "MTS Armenia" closes the top five (a year earlier it occupied the 7th  place), tax payments of which amounted to 12.5 billion drams (y-o-y  decline by 3.8%), of which 6.7 million drams were for customs duties,  4.9 billion drams - for direct taxes, 5.1 billion drams - for VAT.

In total, the top five paid 232.3 billion drams ($572.6 million) to  the budget through taxes, which is 69.1% more than a year ago, of  which 57.4 billion - in direct taxes (including income tax, profit  tax) and 82.7 billion drams - for indirect taxes (including VAT,  excise tax). The share of the top five in the list of 1000 largest  taxpayers accounts for 21.4%.

After the TOP-5, the top ten is occupied by Philip Morris (10th place  a year earlier), CPS OIL CORPORATIO 7th place (versus 8th a year  earlier), Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine -8th place (against 40th a  year earlier), the 9th place was taken by the "Flash" oil trader (as  a year earlier), and the 10th place was taken by the "JTI Armenia"  company (a year earlier, 15th place).  According to the State Revenue  Committee, in January-September 2022, the 1000 largest taxpayers in  Armenia paid 1.082 trillion drams ($2.6 billion) to the state  treasury, which is 31.8% higher than a year ago.  It should be noted  that the State Revenue Committee excluded the state departments from  the list of taxpayers (included in this list from 2021) and has also  revised the corresponding table for the same period of the previous  year for comparability. In this regard, the places of the companies  and organizations included in this list have changed. (The settlement  rate of the dram as of September 30, 2022 was 405.65 AMD/$1)
