ArmInfo.There is an urgent need for workers and cement in the construction industry. Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan announced on his Facebook page, referring to the statement of the management of the Dragsman Concrete Producing Company.
In particular, they presented to the minister about problems that arose at the Company due to the shortage of cement, and their vision regarding further development programs. As Kerobyan noted, the company, within the framework of the state program of modernization of the economy, acquired several concrete mixers and concrete pumps in order to expand production capacities.
According to the source, the delegation of the Ministry also visited the QuadraStone stone-processing workshop in order to get acquainted with the activities of the enterprise, problems and present government programs to support business.
It should be reminded that earlier the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia reported that on October 10 a draft law came into force, according to which the state duty on the import of cement from 14,000 drams (per 1 ton) decreased to 2,000 drams. He drew attention to the fact that such changes will allow using the wide opportunities of neighboring countries, in particular Georgia and Iran, to fill the gap in the local cement market.
It should be noted that according to the Statistical Committee, in H1 2022, the total volume of construction in Armenia amounted to over 149 billion drams, which is 12.7% higher than the indicator of a year ago, of which 46.3% was financed by private companies, over 25% - by state funds, 9.4% - international loans, 3.7% - community funds, etc.
