ArmInfo. The Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has started the process of reviewing electricity tariffs. PSRC Chairman Garegin Baghdasaryan stated this during a briefing on December 1 in the government.
In this regard, he stressed that within 10 days it will become clear whether electricity prices for consumers will rise or not.
"Summing up the balances of generated electricity will clarify the subsequent revision of tariffs," Baghdasaryan noted.
Speaking about the situation with water, he recalled that the government will subsidize the difference between the current and established new tariffs during the year, which will allow citizens to pay for water at the usual price during the year.
From January 1, 2023, the water tariff in Armenia will increase by about 8 drams per 1 cubic meter. - 200.47 drams to 208.42 drams per cubic meter (including VAT).
The last time the water tariff was increased from January 1, 2022, the tariff - by about 20 drams - to 200.47 drams (including VAT) per 1 cubic meter (the current tariff for socially vulnerable segments of the population was kept at the level of 180 drams), despite the fact that, with an application dated August 9, 2021, "Veolia Jur" proposed to increase the tariff by 43.7 drams from January 1, 2022 - up to 223.7 drams (including VAT) per 1 cubic meter, mainly referring to the y-o-y inflation of 5.7%.
