The employment level reached 51.2% in the second quarter of 2022 against 48.4%. In the second quarter of 2021, 51.7% employment was recorded in Armenia against 46.8%. As of July 1, 2022, Armenia's employed population exceeded 1,142,000 (a 1% increase), with 170,000 unemployed recorded (an 11.2% decline).
As of September 1, 2022, a total of 76,800 job-seekers were registered in Armenia (a 15% decline), with 52,000 of them being unemployed (a 15.1% decline).
In its forecast revised this September, Armenia's Central Bank (CBA) improved its unemployment expectations - 14.1% against 15.3% in 2021 and the previously forecast 14.8%. In the medium term, 15% unemployment in expected against the previously forecast 15%-16%.
