Analysts report that for 10 months of 2022, the volume of mutual trade of the EAEU member states amounted to about $67 billion, with an increase of 12.8% per year. <Changes in supply chains have created new opportunities for some EAEU economies. Thus, according to the results of 10 months of 2022, Armenia's exports to Belarus and Russia increased 2.8-fold and 2.5 fold, respectively, Kyrgyzstan's exports to these countries increased 2-fold and 2.6-fold, respectively, Kazakhstan's exports increased by 1.2-fold each of the countries>, the source says.
It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EAEU countries in January-October 2022 amounted to $3.98 billion, with a sharp acceleration in y-o-y growth from 13.9% to 88%, against the background of a more tangible increase in exports - 2.5-fold (from 25.5% a year earlier) - up to $1.78 billion, than imports - by 55.9% (from 8.8% a year earlier) - up to $2.2 billion.
Russia continues to maintain leadership in terms of foreign trade turnover in general and in terms of exports and imports in particular. In particular, the foreign trade turnover between Russia and Armenia in January- October 2022 reached $3.8 billion, with a sharp acceleration in y-o-y growth from 14.3% to 86.4%, mainly due to an increase in exports by several times. Thus, the volume of exports of goods from Armenia to Russia significantly accelerated the y-o-y growth from 24.9% to 2.5-fold, which, at a slightly less restrained upward pace, was also observed in the volume of imports of goods from Russia to Armenia - from 9.6% to 53.4%, with the provision of volumes at the level of $1.7 billion and $2.1 billion, respectively.
The share of Russia in the foreign trade turnover of Armenia, increased year-on-year from 31.1% to 34.8%, against the backdrop of a significant increase in the share in exports from 28.1% to 41.4%, with a decline in the share in imports from 32.9% to 30.8%. Mutual trade with Belarus for the reporting period increased 2.3-fold, amounting to $146.7 million. At the same time, exports showed a 2.8-fold increase to $54.5 million, imports - 2-fold to $97.2 million.
Trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased in January-October 2.4-fold to $34.7 million, exports - by 46.2% to $13.4 million, imports 3.9-fold to $21.3 million.
