CBA Head: Surveys show that international visitors have begun making  long-term plans for Armenia and its economy

ArmInfo.Head of the Central Bank of Armenia Martin Galstyan, referring to the results of surveys among the partners of the Central Bank, said that international visitors began to make long-term plans for Armenia and the Armenian economy. He stated this on March 14 during a press conference.

In addition, he cited the assessments of the Central Bank, according  to which the tourism processes in Armenia will continue, which will  positively affect the economic development of the country.

The head of the Central Bank also noted that the arrival of  international visitors from the Russian Federation, Ukraine and  Belarus to Armenia has a positive impact on public life in the RA in  the context of changing tastes, culture, and relationships.

At the same time, expressing his personal opinion, Martin Galstyan  noted that if the geopolitical situation does not worsen, a certain  restoration of the tourist flow to Armenia from other countries  should also be expected.

It should be reminded that according to the data of the Ministry of  Economy of the Republic of Armenia, from February last year to March  this year, 113,753 citizens moved to Armenia from Russia, Ukraine and  Belarus, of which 64,862 are of Armenian origin. At the same time,  7,328 companies and individual entrepreneurs were registered in  Armenia by citizens of the Russian Federation.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, over 1.6 million tourists  visited Armenia in 2022, which is 2- fold more than in 2021.
