Vahan Kerobyan: Turkey actively buys gold from Armenia, while  selectively buying other products

ArmInfo. In the first half of the year, 98% of Armenian exports to Turkey were gold. Tadevos  Avetisyan, MP from the "Armenia" faction, stated this during a meeting of the Standing Parliamentary Commission on Economic Affairs, expressing his concern in this regard.

In particular, he stressed, referring to the data of the Customs  Service, that during the reporting period, the volume of exports from  Armenia to the Turkish market amounted to $20.3 million, of which  $20.1 million is accounted for by gold. , the parliamentarian said, noting that there is a  need for state regulation. Deputy Finance Minister Arman Poghosyan and Economy Minister Vahan  Kerobyan tried to calm the MP..  In particular, Arman Poghosyan noted  that this issue should be approached in the context of the fact that  the Armenian economy is open. Kerobyan explained that such a situation (including with the export  of gold) is due to the fact that, actually, Turkey selectively opens  the border for Armenian exporters, giving the green light to only a  certain category of goods that are necessary for its economy. "For  other products, the border is closed," the minister stressed
