On March 29, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a meeting on economic growth trends and development programs. <According to the data published the day before by the Statistical Committee, Armenia continues to be in a state of high economic activity. We set the task of ensuring economic growth of at least 7% by 2023. I propose to discuss some of the nuances related to economic performance indicators and bring together our upcoming actions in terms of ensuring our goals>, the prime minister said.
Those responsible presented the data published by the Statistical Committee on the main macroeconomic indicators for January-February 2023.
In particular, an increase in economic activity of 10.9% was recorded, the volume of construction increased by 13.2%, services - by 23.5%, domestic trade - by 18%, foreign trade - by 77.7%. The consumer inflation index decreased and amounted to 8.1%. It was noted that the inflow of capital and labor to Armenia continues.
Measures to be taken in the direction of maintaining the momentum of progressive growth recorded in the economy were discussed. Investment projects and development programs in industry, agriculture, urban planning, infrastructure, energy, technology and other areas, fiscal and monetary policy, global economic trends were considered.
Summing up, the Prime Minister of the country emphasized the consistent work to ensure continuous economic growth and instructed to keep the implementation of the tasks of the Government in the spotlight.
