Armenia`s government allocates $72,900 for construction of checkpoint  at Armenian-Turkish border

ArmInfo.Armenia's government has allocated $72,900 for design estimates for construction of a  checkpoint in Maraga, Metsamor community, Armavir province (Armenian- Turkish border).

After several companies refused to implement the project, the State  Revenue Committee selected the Arbak and Sons company as designer and  the Artkon CJSC as general contractor. The SahakyanShin CJSC will act  as subcontractor and the Tamo-Shin LLC will act as technical  inspector.

Diplomatic sources informed ArmInfo earlier that residents of third  countries would probably be allowed to cross Armenia's border into  Turkey from July 1, 2023.

Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan announced recently Armenia has  higher chances to normalize relations with Turkey. He is hopeful the  Armenian-Turkish border will be reopened soon, which will create  conditions for developing good-neighborly relations.

"It requires implementation of an agreement on reopening the border  for third countries' residents and holders of diplomatic passports in  the coming months," he said.
