Armenian interagency group to deal with multimodal high-speed route  and operator activities in Chabahar Port

ArmInfo. An Armenian interagency group will consider the issue of launching a multimodal high-speed  route and operator activities in Chabahar Port, Iran. 

Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan signed a decree forming the group  on May 8. Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan will head the  group.  

Iran plans to connect its ports in the Gulf of Oman and in the  Persian Gulp with its Caspian and Black Sea ports by means of  railroads. Armenia is the only EAEU member-state in the South  Caucasus and could bridge Iran with the bloc. 

In March 2021, the Indian ambassador to Iran stated India planned to  involve Armenia in the North-South corridor. In August 2021, in  India's Embassy in Armenia, Acting FM Armen Grigoryan stated Yerevan  was closely following India's active involvement in the North-South  international corridor project and was ready to join the project.
