EAEU expects to significantly increase volume of trade in mid term by  signing of FTZ establishment agreement with Iran

ArmInfo. By the signing of an agreement on the establishment of a free trade zone with Iran, the  EAEU expects to increase the volume of trade from the current $6 billion to $20 billion within 5-7 years, Andrey Slepnev, Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), said on May 12  during a press conference the format of a Moscow - Minsk - Astana - Bishkek - Yerevan video bridge. "These are quite real numbers," he stressed.

At the same time, Slepnev pointed to a high probability of signing  this agreement between the parties this year.

, the minister noted.

Slepnev also noted that thanks to the temporary agreement, which is  local and has been in force for more than two years, the volume of  trade with Iran has been doubled. Therefore, he noted that in the  medium term, with the signing of a new agreement, the growth rate of  trade between the EAEU and Iran will be even more rapid.
