ArmInfo.The Yerevan brandy company owned by Pernod Ricard (France) could stop exports to Russia, Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan stated at a joint meeting of parliamentary committees on May 18.
"I have not been officially informed, but it the Yerevan Brandy Company seems to have officially decided to spot exports to Russia," Mr Kerobyan said.
That could cause problems with purchase of grapes, and Armenia's authorities should follow the situation and respond properly, the minister said.
Mr Kerobyan also noted that more wine grapes are cultivated now and a development strategy in progress.
The Pernod Ricard office announced the company's exist from Russia's market earlier. Pernod Ricard was founded in 1975. The company is the producer of such world-famous brands as Absolut, Havana Club, (Jameson, Ballantine's, Chivas Regal), Martell, Beefeater, Malibu and Kahlua, Mumm and Perrier-Jouet, Olmeca. The company sells its products in 160 countries.
