ArmInfo. Since July 1, 2023, the pensions of citizens will once again be increased in Armenia. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on May 29 at the preliminary debates of the annual report on the implementation of the 2022 state budget of the Republic of Armenia
According to him, during the past year, pensions were raised twice - in January and September, reaching an average mark of 46.2 thousand drams instead of 43.5 thousand drams. At the same time, the minimum amount of pensions increased from 26.5 thousand drams to 31.6 thousand drams. Pashinyan also pointed out the effectiveness of cashback on pensioners' expenses. As of April 1 this year, the average amount of funds returned to pensioners when they make purchases with bank cards amounted to 3 thousand 140 drams. This means that the average size of pensions has increased by another 3,140 thousand drams. It is planned that from July 1, the average pension will increase by the same amount, which will lead to an increase in purchases by pensioners, and, as a result, their average pension will increase significantly. "Of course, the current size of pension growth cannot suit us, especially since pensioners are the largest social stratum of society, numbering 560,000 people, and even after so many increases, the number of registered employees in the country is only 710,000. This ratio should be kept in mind, because the average pension of pensioners depends on the number of employees>, Nikol Pashinyan noted.
