Armenian government provides additional AMD 2.9 billion interstate  loan to Artsakh 

ArmInfo.The Armenian government provided an additional interstate loan to the government of  Nagorno-Karabakh in the amount of 2.9 billion drams.  The decision was made on June 22 at a government meeting.

As noted in the explanation to the document, the loan is provided to  mitigate social tensions in Nagorno- Karabakh in the post-war period.

A similar decision to provide an additional 3.5 billion drams was  made on April 27 this year.  It should be noted that according to the  approved state budget of Armenia for 2023, in the current year, 136  billion drams will be allocated from the state budget of Armenia to  the needs of Artsakh. Previously, it was planned to allocate 144  billion drams to solve the problems of Artsakh, however, 8 billion  drams were allocated in 2022 in order to solve urgent problems. The  funds of the state budget of Armenia are intended to be used to pay  salaries, pensions and allowances to residents of Artsakh, as well as  to implement a number of infrastructure programs.

In 2022, Armenia more than doubled the size of the interstate loan  provided to the Republic of Artsakh on favorable terms - with a y-o-y  interest rate of 0.01% (144 billion drams or 291.7 million US  dollars, the settlement rate of the Armenian dram to the dollar is  493.6 drams, against 64.8 billion drams or 131.2 million US dollars  provided by the state budget for 2021).
