ArmInfo. The economies of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) maintain positive trends. Iya Malkina, assistant to the chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), stated during a briefing on June 26.
In particular, according to her, mutual trade between the countries of the Union in January-April 2022 grew by more than 17%. At the same time, the EEC representative pointed to a continuous increase in agricultural production. During the reporting period, as noted, agricultural production increased by 103% compared to the same period in 2022.
The production has also entered a positive growth trajectory. In particular, Malkina noted that the volume of production in January-April compared to January-April 2022 was 100.9%. "There is an increase in industrial production in all the countries of the Union," she said.
At the same time, Malkina presented construction indicators, pointing to the dynamic pace of construction work. Thus, according to her, in the EAEU for the first 4 months, construction volumes increased by 7.8%.
It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the EAEU countries in January-April 2023 increased 2.3-fold to $2.1 billion. At the same time, exports grew 3.8-fold to $1.1 billion, against the backdrop of a 56.5% decline in imports up to $1 billion.
