According to the minister, successful development was facilitated by the programs implemented by the government to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.
It should be noted that the generation of electricity in Armenia in Q1 2023 decreased by 2% per annum (against 16.7% growth a year earlier), ensuring the volume of 2,416.5 million kWh. At the same time, in March alone, a decline of 7.8% was recorded - to 740.8 million kWh. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee. According to statistical data, in Q1 2023 compared to Q1 2022, TPPs reduced electricity generation by 6.1% - to 1,113.1 million kWh, HPPs - by 9.1% to 289.2 million kWh. And the ANPP output increased only by 1.6% - up to 939.2 million kWh. Wind farms produced 0.9 million kWh electricity, during the reporting period, which is lower than the indicator of a year ago by 9.5%. The volume of production of solar power plants in Q1 2023 qamounted to 74.1 million kWh, with a 2.1-fold y- o-y increase.
