
ArmInfo. On June 29, the opening of the first filling station of the British-Dutch transnational oil and gas company Shell took place in Yerevan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, the licensed representative of the brand in Armenia is Royal Oil LLC, which, in cooperation with Shell, plans to open about 25 Shell filling stations in different parts of the country as part of the next 5-year strategy, with the aim of creating a network of new generation filling stations.
"This is not just a filling station, this is a new culture, the quality of its products and the level of service, Shell will change the demand for the services provided in the field of filling stations in Armenia, and we will see a qualitative change in the overall market," Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said at the opening ceremony.
Shell was established in 1907 by merging the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and The Shell Transport and Trading Company Ltd. For 2018, Shell is the largest oil and gas company and the 11th largest public company in the world according to the Forbes Global 2000 rating and 5th in the Fortune Global 500 rating. The headquarters is located in London (UK). Shell conducts geological exploration and production of oil and gas in more than 70 countries around the world. As a major component of Big Oil, Shell is the second largest oil and gas company in the world by revenue.
