
ArmInfo. The first Armenian-Japanese business forum was held in Japan, which was attended by about 100 leading Japanese companies, including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Japan Tobacco Inc., Toyota Caucasus LLC, a number of banks and representatives of the public sector.
Within the framework of the forum, Deputy Ministers of Economy Narek Teryan, Arman Khojoyan, and Head of the Investment Programs Department Lusine Nahapetyan made presentations. In particular, in order to establish cooperation with the Japanese side, opportunities were presented in the field of agriculture, industry and the investment environment.
According to the RA Statistical Committee, in January-April 2023, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Japan amounted to $144.7 million, 6.1-fold higher than a year ago. At the same time, exports decreased by 6% to $904 thousand, while imports grew 6.3-fold to $143.8 million.
