ArmInfo.Ozon has opened a representative office in Yerevan and is launching its own logistics infrastructure in the country to make it easier for local sellers to enter the Russian market and ensure prompt delivery of goods from Armenia. This was announced today, July 25, by the press service of the company.
According to the report, as part of the development of international business, Ozon launched a sorting center in Yerevan. The logistics facility, with an area of 2000 square meters, will ensure the receipt and processing of orders, their picking and packaging, as well as handling returns. The opening of the sorting center will make it easier for local entrepreneurs to enter the Russian market and enable them to sell more effectively to an audience of 37 million Ozon customers in Russia.
Sellers will be able to ship their goods to CDEK (courier delivery of goods) ordering points located in Yerevan and other major cities of Armenia. In the future, the company plans to develop a network of its own points for receiving and issuing orders throughout the country. At the first stage, sellers will have access to several schemes for delivering goods to Russia: "sale from the seller's warehouse" and "delivery by the seller." The average delivery time of goods from Armenia to Russia will be from 5 to 8 days.
"Armenia is the fourth country in the CIS where we localize business and invest in logistics infrastructure: since 2021, we have been developing in this way in Belarus and Kazakhstan, and in December 2022 we entered the Kyrgyz market. Our experience shows that the launch of logistics facilities in the region allows us to multiply the number of sellers on the site and increase their sales volumes. We are sure that Armenia will not be an exception to this rule," commented Alexei Sapon, Director of Operations and Development of Ozon in the CIS.
To attract sellers from Armenia, Ozon also opened a representative office in Yerevan. Due to the developed logistics, the company intends to expand the assortment on the global showcase in various categories, including such popular ones as "household goods" and "clothes, shoes, accessories."
Earlier, Ozon launched the possibility of ordering goods from the marketplace for residents of Armenia. Almost the entire range of the marketplace in Russia became available to them.
