New head of IMF Armenian office appointed

ArmInfo.On July 26, RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan received Dr. Mehdi Raissi, the  International Monetary Fund  (IMF) Resident Representative in Armenia  in connection with the completion of his mission in Armenia and Mr.  Umang Rawat, who replaced him at this post. Deputy Ministers of  Finance also attended the meeting.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, the  Minister thanked Mr. Raissi, for his productive work and strong  partnership in Armenia.

Hovhannisyan especially noted the long-term cooperation with the  International Monetary Fund and the constant support provided by the  IMF to reforms in the economic sector.

Congratulating Mr. Rawat on his appointment, the minister expressed  his confidence that the work with the IMF newly appointed Resident  Representative  would continue with the same efficiency.

Mr. Rawat, for his part, thanked for the warm welcome and expressed  his readiness to continue the fruitful cooperation that has become  traditional.
