ArmInfo.Foreign citizensmade 2.223 real estate purchase and sale transactions in Armenia in the first half of 2023, which is 8.9% lower than a year ago. At the same time, 9.4% of the total number of transactions were made by foreigners (against 9% a year earlier), according to the data of the RA State Committee for Real Estate Cadastre.
According to the cadastral data, the sale prevails over the purchase in the total number of transactions of foreigners with real estate in Armenia. In particular, in H1 2023 they completed 1,406 transactions for the sale of real estate, 745 - for buying, and the remaining 72 - for both buying and selling.
As a result, in H1 2023, foreigners bought 817 properties and sold 1,478. At the same time, the lion's share of real estate purchased by foreigners falls on apartments - 47.5%, followed by land - 21.4%, own houses - 17.1%, garages - 7.7%, public buildings - 5.1 %, and the lowest percentage falls on the purchase of industrial buildings - 1.1%.
Both in buying and selling, apartments account for the largest percentage - 37.6%, land accounts for a little less - 33.4%, followed by own houses - 23.8%. A very small share falls on the sale of garages - 2.5%, public buildings - 2.2% and industrial buildings - 0.5%.
The most active buyers and sellers of real estate in Armenia are citizens of the Russian Federation, the United States, Iran, a number of European countries and the CIS.
