ArmInfo. It is extremely important that the peoples and business communities of the EAEU countries feel the concrete benefits of integration. This was stated by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov on August 24 at an extraordinary meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia.
Alikhan Smailov reminded that the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union is approaching. During this time, complex work has been done to form a legal framework, set up uniform regimes for regulating foreign trade and create a seamless domestic trade, he noted.
According to the head of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, thanks to common efforts, the Union continues to reveal its potential, which proves the effectiveness of Eurasian integration. "Relations between our countries on a wide range of issues are dynamically developing in the spirit of mutual respect and support. Economic cooperation remains the backbone," he said.
At the same time, according to Alikhan Smailov, it is necessary to strictly follow the goals and objectives that were set during the formation of the Union. "And it is extremely important that the peoples and business communities of the EAEU countries feel the concrete benefits of integration. It is for this reason that the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in May of this year, spoke about the need for conducting a comprehensive analysis of the law of the EAEU. It will reflect the main results and achievements of the Union, as well as specific recommendations for further integration development. The Commission has already started preparing the Report. We hope that it will be detailed and objective, with specific reasons for the non-implementation of individual agreements," Smailov said.
To plan new horizons of integration, a clear understanding of the current situation is necessary, the head of government added. <Let's be objective: we have problematic issues, not everything works as we planned. The Eurasian Economic Union is going through a maturation stage. We consider it necessary not to get involved in the integration of new areas. It is the Report that will allow us to determine the current state of affairs in the Union, work on mistakes and outline the contours of the development of economic integration in the near future>, he noted.
As Alikhan Smailov emphasized, Kazakhstan sees the development of the Eurasian economic project, which is based on economic pragmatism. In this regard, the Republic of Kazakhstan has prepared its own draft Declaration, which reflects the ways of further development of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Kazakhstan is interested in strengthening industry and the agro-industrial complex through the implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation projects, strengthening transport and logistics cooperation and creating a common financial market, Smailov said. In addition, the RK indicates the importance of developing the Eurasian Economic Commission and the institution of observer states, as well as cooperation with interested foreign states.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan pointed out that a stable foundation is needed to make a qualitative economic breakthrough. <Kazakhstan is determined to work actively in search of new sources of growth, strengthening our relations and addressing common economic challenges. I am sure that by joint efforts we will bring the Eurasian Economic Union to a higher trajectory of qualitative development>, Alikhan Smailov summed up
