Economy Ministry sees need to extend state subsidies for  Novorossiysk-Batumi-Novorossiysk ferry service

ArmInfo. The Ministry of Economy of Armenia will propose to the government of the country to  extend the process of subsidizing the Novorossiysk-Batumi-  Novorossiysk ferry service. Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan  Kerobyan told reporters on September 7.  To explain his intention, he  mentioned that there is already a positive trend in the context of  container fullness. Today, as Kerobyan noted, the government pays for  each shipment.

Earlier in May of this year, there were reports about the possibility  of cargo transportation of Armenian goods through the  Novorossiysk-Batumi-Novorossiysk ferry service. To organize this  process, the Government of the Republic of Armenia chose the C&M  International company as the operator.

"As of today, our ship can carry 350 containers. On April 18, we  successfully completed the first transportation. We plan to operate  regular shipments once a week from Novorossiysk to Batumi and in the  opposite direction. In parallel with demand, we will be able to  increase the shipments by 2-3 times as necessary. What matters now is  to operate regular, stable shipment once a week," company's director,  David Iloyan, emphasized earlier.
