Vahan Kerobyan: Government intends to implement programs with smart  component in several areas

ArmInfo.The Government of Armenia plans to develop and implement programs with a smart  component, in particular, in the fields of energy, road construction, environmental protection, water resources management, citizen safety, education, etc. Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan stated  in his speech  during the forum "Smart City and Urban Management", held within the framework of the 3rd Belt and  Road Forum for International Cooperation.

At the same time, the minister noted that it is more than important  for Armenia to choose an effective model of urban governance. In this  context, he said that the government has adopted a policy for the use  of smart technologies in various areas of urban governance.

In general, the minister attached importance to the use of smart  technologies in various industries, talking about their features.

The initiative to hold the forum was announced by the Chinese  authorities at the beginning of the year. The forum is held under the  theme: "High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common  Development and Prosperity".

More than 140 countries and 30 international organizations have  confirmed their participation in the forum, including government  leaders, heads of international organizations, ministerial level  officials and business representatives. In total, more than 4  thousand participants are registered.

The Belt and Road Initiative, known within China as the One Belt One  Road is a global infrastructure development strategy adopted by the  Chinese government in 2013 to invest in more than 150 countries and  international organizations.  It is considered a centerpiece of the  Chinese leader Xi Jinping's foreign policy.The initiative received a  positive response from the international community, attracting more  than 150 countries and more than 30 international organizations.
